Dr Ruggiero’s years of experience as a general pediatrician prior to his completing his developmental pediatrics fellowship has provided him a more broad view and experiential base in the interrelationship of nature and nurture in the expression of wellness and challenges in all of us. Dr Ruggiero graduated from medical school at the University of Florida School of Medicine, and completed his residency in general pediatrics at Children’s Hospital Oakland. Following subspecialty training at the University of North Carolina he was appointed assistant professor of Developmental Pediatrics at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland, Oregon, serving as director of a multidisciplinary neurodevelopment clinic and resident training director. This experience was the basis of his appreciation and commitment to an interdisciplinary approach to neurodevelopmental and behavioral evaluations and interventions.
Dr. Ruggiero has been practicing at the Melmed Center since 2001 and is now at The Serin Center to continue to serve Arizona families and integrate care with neuropsychologists and psychologists for comprehensive treatment that works for each patient.
